In 2018 our founder John Rakic after several years of trying to find customers and uses for washed and recycled glass, had a crazy idea to make benchtops and other surfaces, right here in Australia, using this unwanted material.
Soon after this Wayne Manners and Shane Graham joined John on this Australian made recycling journey and Eco Surfaces and Eco Benchtops became a reality.
The 3 very experienced gentlemen, who have over a 100 years of combined experience in manufacturing, specialty construction products and building materials wanted to give back to the industry that they have had their long and established careers in.
With adult children and many grandchildren, they want to leave the world in a better place than it is so future generation can enjoy what they have enjoyed.

Fast forward to 2024, and a local Australian fully operational patent pending production facility is in operation and some outstanding independently tested surfaces are being promoted and sold into our local marketplace.
We have started with eco benchtops and eco splashbacks, and using recycled glass, but Eco Surfaces, the company has the vision to expand into other recycled materials and other applications.
Eco Surfaces acknowledges the First Nations people of the ancestral lands on which we operate. We pay our respects to all First Nations people, and to Elders past, present and emerging. Eco Surfaces is committed to treating all people with respect and in building genuine partnerships with First Nations peoples and communities throughout our areas of operations.
