Eco Surfaces FAQ's

The Legacy Range is made with recycled materials, incorporating approximately 450 standard glass bottles per benchtop, supporting the circular economy and sustainability.

The typical slab size is 3050 x 1550 x 20mm, with a weight of 190-195 kg per slab.

Yes, Eco Surfaces benchtops are tested in certified laboratories to ensure they are  crystalline silica safe, making them compliant with anticipated nation-wide bans on engineered stone surfaces containing quartz.

The density of Eco Surfaces benchtops is 2037 kg/m³ as per ASTM C97M – 18.

Eco Surfaces benchtops have an impact resistance of 6.3J according to EV14617 – 9 (2005).

The hardness of Eco Surfaces benchtops is measured at 88 Barcol hardness as per ASTM D2853.

Eco Surfaces benchtops have a flexural strength of 25.2 MPa and 28.7 MPa according to ASTM C880M-23.

The compressive strength of Eco Surfaces benchtops is 109.5 MPa as per EN14617-15 (2005).

The water absorption rate is 0.07% by weight and 0.14% by volume according to ASTM C97M – 18.

Yes, Eco Surfaces benchtops pass all substances in stain resistance tests as per ANSI Z124.6 (5.5) – 2007.

Eco Surfaces benchtops pass all substances in chemical resistance tests according to ANSI Z124.6 (5.5) – 2007.

Eco Surfaces benchtops contain less than 1% crystalline silica by weight, making them safe to work with.

For routine cleaning, use non-bleach, non-abrasive cleaners with lukewarm water and a damp cloth or sponge. Promptly wipe off spills, including fruits, vegetables, and food colorings, and clean with mild detergent and water.

Avoid using steel wool, harsh chemicals such as paint remover, concentrated bleach, or acetone on Eco Surfaces. These substances can damage the surface.

If regular cleaning methods are ineffective, use a non-abrasive cleaning pad with a glass and surface cleaner or “Cream Cleanser.” Apply light pressure in circular motions on wet surfaces.

While Eco Surfaces offer excellent heat resistance, but avoid placing hot pans directly from the stove or heat-generating appliances on the benchtop. Maintain a distance of at least 300mm from joins and use heat-resistant pads to protect the surface.

Immediately blot spills with a paper towel or cloth to prevent staining. Do not let liquids sit on the surface for extended periods.

Refrain from using strong chemicals such as paint removers, oven cleaners, acetone, or harsh cleaning products. If accidentally exposed, rinse promptly with water. Use a non-acetone remover for spills like nail polish.

Lift heavy objects instead of dragging them across the surface. Place felt or rubber pads under small appliances to prevent scratches. Use trivets or hot pads under hot pots and pans to protect the surface from heat stress and potential scratches.
